To help consumers get more value for their money, personal-finance site WalletHub has released its annual list of the Best Hotel Rewards Programs of 2025—a data-driven guide to scoring maximum savings on hotel stays.
WalletHub’s study analyzed rewards programs from the nine largest U.S. hotel chains, evaluating them across 21 key metrics. These included the average value of a rewards point, how long points remain valid, and the consistency of award-night pricing. To make planning even easier, WalletHub also offers an interactive calculator to help travelers personalize the rankings based on their unique travel habits and spending patterns.
Choice Privileges Takes the Top Spot
For the second year in a row, Choice Privileges earned the highest overall rating, topping WalletHub’s list with a score of 64 out of 100. The program stood out for its strong point value and competitive savings opportunities.
How Much Can You Save?
According to WalletHub, the five top-ranking hotel rewards programs offer members an average savings of 11%—and in some cases, up to 14%—on hotel stays. While every program has its perks, only Best Western offers points that never expire due to inactivity, a rarity among major chains.
Redeem Without Restrictions
If flexibility is important, take note: six of the nine programs allow members to redeem points at any brand under their umbrella. The exceptions? Marriott Bonvoy, Choice Privileges, and IHG One Rewards, which have some limitations on point redemption.
