Summertime coastal adventures this year included Solomon’s Island, MD; Kure Beach, NC and Myrtle Beach.

We took another trip to Washington, D.C. where I covered the dedication ceremony of the new WWI Memorial sculpture. You can see my feature from a link on my bio. I was delighted to introduce my grandies to our nation’s capital and such historic sites as the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the newly unveiled 70-ft long WWI sculpture, “A Soldier’s Journey.”

BassMan and I took our first him and her vacation together since our honeymoon to Hawaii 38 years ago. We spent a week exploring the U.S. Virgin Islands St. Thomas and St. John.

October saw me winging over to Greenville, SC, one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s urban, but it’s set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It has the vibe of a big city, with a small-town heartbeat. Here you’ll find everything from luxury accommodations at the Grand Bohemian and other boutique hotels, to miles of hiking trails, camping, and outdoor adventures. Did I tell you it’s also a #foodie paradise?

Branson, MO was the place to get into the spirit of the holidays. Theaters, parks and public spaces ring in the spirit with holiday themed shows, lights, lights, and more lights. Silver Dollar City goes above and beyond with spectacular light shows and displays.

We ended the year of travel with a trip to Florida with our adult kids and two young grandies. The Magic Kingdom was everything I remembered and watching my kids as adults experience it once again was almost as endearing as watching the grandies light up with the excitement of it all for the first time. Having grown up in Orange County, CA and visiting so often in my youth, I didn’t realize how much I missed the joy, wonder, and magic of Disney. I will always be a #DisneyGirl.

We began 2024 with a road trip to Edisto Beach, SC

We began 2024 with a road trip to Edisto Beach, SC a laid-back beach town south of Charleston, where we walked our pup on the beach. A few steps north of the town is Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve.

March 2024 took us to Washington DC to view cherry blossoms around the tidal basin. You’ll recognize such iconic sites as the Capitol building, the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, and the stirring Iwo Jima memorial statue at Arlington National Cemetery.

Road trip to Pittsburgh in April 2024 featured views of North Carolina’s iconic Pilot Mountain.

Gotta love the signage at Virginia’s welcome centers.

Pittsburgh is more than just a steel city as seen from the top of Mt. Washington. It’s also home to the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh.

At the end of April I returned to my heart’s home town of Laguna Beach to visit friends, walk the beach, browse the galleries, and enjoy the exceptional cuisine.

I spent my birthday in the city of my birth in 2024—Los Angeles—while attending the 2024 IPW travel expo. Here I got up close and personal to Van Gogh’s “Waterlilies” at the Getty Museum; went on a catamaran cruise in Marina del Rey; saw the incredible queen of Motown, Diana Ross, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum; rocked to Keanu Reeves thumping the bass in the band Dogstar; danced during a lunchtime concert with Ziggy Marley; and zoomed around Universal Studios Hollywood.

To participate, a message goes out months in advance to Disney enthusiasts naming #dapperday dates at each Disney park. Dapper day participants dress in vintage clothes or Disney themes and stroll through the various Disney parks with style and grace. It’s a beautiful life together as they have tea breaks, lunches, dinners and #meetups throughout the days at the park.

The level of couture creativity is spectacular and the participants virtually sparkle with enthusiasm. They love to share their Dapper Day experience and model their finery and each of then were delighted for me to share their photos here.
